Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken wings
700g Chicken wings (£1.67 Morrisons) = £1.67
1 onion (59p 1 kg Aldi) = 5p
1 garlic clove = 1p
2 tbsp tomato puree (Store cupboard)
1 tbsp oregano (store cupboard)
Few splashes of Tabasco sauce (£1.75 Tabasco/sweet chipotle and cola 280g) = 2P
2 Tbsps light brown sugar (500g 79p Aldi) = 2p
4 sweet potatoes to make jacket potatoes (69p 4 Aldi) = 69p
Grand Total = £2.46
Preheat the slow cooker . Place a little oil /onion/garlic/tomato puree /oregano/tabasco and sugar in a jug/bowl or food processor and either using a hand blender or food processor – blend to a paste, season with salt and pepper. Spoon into a large food bag and add the chicken wings. Shake until the meat is well covered and coated in the marinade, chill in the fridge for 30mins.
Put the wings into the slow cooker spreading them evenly over the base of the slow cooker and cover. Cook for 5-6 hours turning half way through the cooking time (if you want to) serve with the baked sweet potatoes and enjoy .
