Rissoles & Gravy
Ingredients:
500g Minced beef(£2.50 for 800g FF) = £1.56
1 onion (79p 1.5kg FF) = 5p
2 garlic cloves (39p for 4 bulbs FF) = 2p
2tbsp Tomato paste (35p Aldi ) = 5p
2-3 tbsp Dijon mustard (185g 58p Asda) = 14p
1 tbsp dried parsley (49p jar Aldi) = 2p
1 tbsp dried chives (86p jar Asda) = 2p
2 eggs (95p for 6 Free range Aldi) = 30p
100g breadcrumbs (800g loaf Aldi 55p) =6p
splash of milk and flour for dusting.
500g potatoes to make mash (7.5kg £2.00 FF) = 10p
100g peas (1kg 99p Aldi) = 10p
1 serving gravy (75p 300g Aldi) = 7p
Grand Total for 4 = £2.49
Method:
Boil the potatoes to make a mash at the end of the Rissoles cooking time.combine the mince /chopped onions/ chopped garlic/tomato puree/mustard/herbs and 1 egg in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Shape into patties by pressing small handfuls into small balls and flattening . Lightly dust each one with flour. Whisk the other egg and add a little milk. Dip the patties one at a time and then in the breadcrumbs . Heat any oil in a pan and fry each side for 3-4 mins. (may have to be in batches) .
Heat the peas and serve with the mash /gravy and rissoles.
