Chicken Stroganoff with Boiled Rice.
350g Chicken (£3.33 1kg Farmfoods) = £1.16
200g Closed cup mushrooms (380g 99p Aldi) = 52p
1 onion (65p 1kg Aldi) = 6p
100ml chicken stock - store cupboard
2 tsp Paprika - store cupboard
200ml single cream (300ml 65p Aldi) = 43p
2 bags cooked boil in the bag rice (59p 4 bags Aldi) = 30p
Grand Total = £2.47
Cut the defrosted chicken into thin strips. Heat a little oil in a frying pan and brown the chicken, remove from the pan and set aside. Add the chopped onion to the pan and fry until softened & golden.
Return the chicken to the pan and continue to fry on a medium heat for a couple of minutes. Add the washed chopped mushrooms and stock then simmer for a further 5 minutes. Finally add the cream and paprika - stirring thoroughly and simmer for a further 2 minutes.
Serve on the cooked rice, sprinkle on a little more paprika and ENJOY!!
